EUSC took away a group of highly dedicated swimmers to Cardiff International Pool from the 7-9th February 2014. This was too preparing those members of the Long Course BUCS Team for Long Course Championships and Exeter’s’ Swimming Varsity in March. The Exeter University Swimming BUCS team had a very successful weekend at Short Course BUCS on the 6th Dec-8th Dec, with great performances from all the team and many club records broken. Special mention goes the Women’s 4 x 50 Freestyle and Medley relay teams who made the B final, coming 7th and 9th respectively and both swims breaking club records. After last months trials the EUSC team for BUCS short course 2013 has been chosen. Given the high standard of competition at the trials this was not an easy task and we anticipate some great results in the team relays and the individual events. Five weeks left until we head up to Sheffield so plenty of time to get some tough training in!

Back In March 10 EUSC members took on the 10 kilometre RockSolid Race, a first for the club viagra est bon. The herculean race consisted of 37 obstacles and saw the team battle against mud, rain, ice cold water and hail. They crawled under barbwire, jumped over walls, carried logs, swam through lakes and sprinted up mountains. University of Exeter Swimming Club have had some amazing achievements at the BUCS Swimming Championships 2013 and the annual swimming Varsity at the Pyramids Leisure Centre in the past few weeks. Special mention goes to EUSC Men’s Captain Ilya Skliarov who came 5th in the final of the Men’s 50m Freestyle out of a total of 120 competitors; finishing with a time of 23.85 to qualify for the GB trials. 14 of our elite swimmers travelled to Cardiff earlier this term for the Club’s annual training camp. Three days of brutal training in one of the country’s best facilities, the Cardiff International 50m Pool, saw the team return to Exeter aching but with plenty of mileage under their belts.
