Speedo and BUCS Short course championships 2019 report

Early on the morning of Friday 15th November we set off on the long coach journey up Ponds Forge. Arriving in Sheffield in the early afternoon, bags were dropped at the hotel before we made our way to the first session. In both the men’s and women’s pools, Exeter’s A and B freestyle relay teams shook off the travel tiredness to post super quick times. What a week! I want to start by thanking every single person who helped during Varsity week, whether that was fundraising via the bake-sale or fun-run, coming along to the quiz, or swimming on the day. We had a fantastic week, raising a huge amount for our chosen charity – the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). On Friday 15th February EUSC travelled up to Sheffield with its finest young swimmers to compete in the BUCS Nationals  Long Course Championships, and what an event it was. On Saturday 4th March, EUSC proudly hosted 6 teams to compete in Varsity 2017! These included Bath, Bristol, Falmouth, EUSC A Team, EUSC B Team and Exeter Alumni/Tri Club, and all teams were out to emerge victorious after the afternoon of competing. Over the weekend 18 members of EUSC headed up to Sheffield to compete in the 2017 BUCS Nationals Long Course Championships – and what a weekend it was! Records were broken, PBs were smashed, and overall a great weekend was had by all.
