The club is run entirely by the committee, made up of the 12 students below. Hi, I’m Mel, I am a third year English student from Wales and I compete in surf lifesaving. As your club captain for 21/22 I will be working with the committee and the Athletic Union to make sure the club runs smoothly. I can’t wait to implement the exciting things we have planned this year!
Hi, I’m Ally and I am a second-year Exercise and Sport Science student. I’m one of your vice-captains and welfare secretaries. My role includes working alongside Jack to assist Mel as club captain, and we will always be around if you guys need any guidance or advice. My role as publicity sec involves making sure that all the social media pages are up-to-date and that key information is passed onto the team. I will also be working closely with sponsors, and constantly looking out for new companies to collaborate with.
Event & Relations Secretary
Heya I’m Abby, I’m a masters student studying Applied Data Science and Statistics. As your events sec I’ll be organising our varsity week (the best week of the year) which involves a fun run, pub quiz, swim gala and night out, amongst other things! I’ll also be coordinating with other universities to organise a swimming trip for the club. Now that covid restrictions have eased I hope to plan an alumni get together so our EUSC legends can all catch up!
My name is Esme and I’m in my third year studying English. I am your competition captain and will be organising club champs, BUCS teams and the BUSL galas. I will also be running BUCS training sessions in Exeter and on camps.
Hi, I’m Oscar and one of your Social Secs, this year I’m looking forward to some wild Wednesdays nights, but its not just about how fast you can chop pints but also creating a fun and enjoyable atmosphere during socials and even training. Surprisingly, I’m almost more excited to return to the pool, well maybe not St Luke’s.. but the new leisure centre seems pretty cool, hopefully it will be built in time for at least a couple training sessions this year…
Hey I’m Meg, I’m a Business Economics and Spanish student in my 3rd year. Together with Oscar, I will be coming up with some amazing weekly socials for everyone to get involved with! Hopefully this year there will be some new pub crawls and sober social events too.

Hi, I’m Ellie, I study Economics and I am your Circuits Coach. It is my role to run circuits every week for everyone, run along side our swimming sessions and socials! I am looking forward to designing circuits for every ability, and hopefully everyone will enjoy attending circuits this year.
Hey, I’m Erin! I study geography and sports science. As the Intramural Sec I organise all our fixtures and teams for the leagues. It might be mixed netball, football, rounders… you choose.
Along side the Committee we have a professional coache assisting at 2 training sessions a week.
Garry has over 30 years experience of teaching and coaching people to swim. He has progressed through the Amateur Swimming Association training programme from preliminary teacher to ASA Coach; he holds a level 4 certificate in coaching swimming and is qualified as a level 3 personal trainer.
Over the past 20 years, Garry has held a number of Head Coach positions and produced swimmers who have competed at national and international level both in swimming and triathlon. He is currently the head coach of Dawlish Swimming Club in Devon; a position he’s held since 2009.
