The swimming committee are here to make sure you have the best possible swimming experience during your time here at university. The club is run entirely by the Committee, made up of the 11 students below. If you need help with anything to do with the club or simply want to know more get in contact with a member of committee or let us know through the contact page and we’ll do all we can to help! Hiya, i’m Tom , a third year history and philosophy student.
Hi everyone! I’m Eleri, a fourth year biochemistry student and your circuits coach for this year. It’s my job to plan, run and provide an awesome playlist for the weekly on-land circuits session at St Lukes gym. The exercises will be cardio and resistance based and to finish there’s always a friendly game of benchball. If you have any questions, ideas or just want a chat, please drop me a message or come talk to me at training.
Along side the Committee we have 2 professional coaches assisting at 2 training sessions a week.
Garry has over 30 years experience of teaching and coaching people to swim. He has progressed through the Amateur Swimming Association training programme from preliminary teacher to ASA Coach; he holds a level 4 certificate in coaching swimming and is qualified as a level 3 personal trainer.
Over the past 20 years, Garry has held a number of Head Coach positions and produced swimmers who have competed at national and international level both in swimming and triathlon. He is currently the head coach of Dawlish Swimming Club in Devon; a position he’s held since 2009.
Gordon is an ASA qualified coach who has been involved with swimming for over 40 years as a swimmer, teacher and coach.
Prior to becoming head coach at Exeter City Swimming Club she worked for the ASA as a Talent Development Officer – involved in organising and running training camps, coach education, mentoring coaches, assessing swimmers and coaches and working with clubs.
We offer 3 intramural teams for all of our members to take part in for free. These are run by our intramural captains below.
